Honestly after doing research I do not know what to think. Some of the stories seem to be true but then there are others that don't. I strongly believe that aliens do exsists (and as many scientists have said before you must be narrowminded to think we are the only living thing out there) so it is hard not to think this isn't true. You might have your own therorys, but you have to actually study and do some thinking before realizing if they really exsists or if they don't.

The Tales Behind It
I have mentioned before that I have heard some stories, but I didnt want to leave it at that I wanted to get other peoples opinions.
S.E. Haydon (an Aurora town native) said he saw a slow moving space craft crash into a windmill and burst into pieces. He also found a body which was buried in the Aurora Cemetery. Later on a man named Brawley Oats bought the land that this UFO crashed on and went to clean out the water well to make it working again. When he found all the UFO metals, while doing this he began to get ar severe case of arthritis. He then sealed the well off so no one could drink it.
Unlike Roswell the government didn't take interest in this.
Before all of this the town went through some hard times: illnesses, fires, crops destroyed, and new railroads.
John W. Ellis and a few other cowboys were engaged in a round-up, when they heard a whirring noise above them and they looked up witnessing a body falling to the ground.When walking closer they noticed metals and wheels. The story goes on to say that the ship was 50 to 60 feet long.

Stories Behind All of This
When growing up I can remember watching ET and Independance Day; then having my cousin explain to me that aliens were real and one day I would see a UFO because they would soon be taking over the Earth. Then one day while hanging out with him we went to the movie store and he rented a movie about a UFO sighting. It wasn't until I was older that I realized it was about Aurora. Yes Aurora, my cousin lives in Newark which is about 10 minutes from there. Oh how scared I was. Not realizing that soon I would learn more than this.
Growing up I heard many stories about this, making me believe it more and more. One being from Brad Foster (still a family friend today), he told me that he remembers a loud sound then a bright light. Then he heard all the comotion, pictures, farmers making phone calls, and his parents walking to the crash sight neglecting him to go. When he told me this I was in shock.
Later there were stories of an alien body found, and military people coming to take it.

The year 1897 was pre-Wright Brothers. Meaning no one had discovered airplanes so any flying objects were either explained by balloons, blimps, or birds. By the description of this flying object it was none of them. After the crash and when cleaning up the mess the workers came across remains of a strange material with heiroglyphical etching, and an alien type body.(Booth) The towns people gave it a proper burial in the cemetary.
Later the U.S. Military made many trips to the area. They made trips to the cemetary, and the crash sight. Many of the folks from this town want to know if they have the body and the headstone. Just a Little Background
As a little girl my family always watched what seemed to be scary movies, until I grew just a little older I realized they were movies about aliens. I can specificly remember my cousin (more like my brother) would go to the movie store and rent movies mostly about the sitings of UFO'S. My family lives in Newark, Tx which is a little country town just outside of Decatur. One evening while watching these videos with my cousin I can remember hearing Aurora over and over again. I never realized how close Aurora was to my family's house. Aurora is about 7 minutes from their house. So over the years I have been curious. What was it everyone saw? When was it that they saw it? Why Aurora? So doing some research and finding out some things have made me wonder about more. So enter at your own risk and be prepared to learn something new and exciting.
